The new upgraded ASICS Gel-Xalion 3 Women's Running Shoe is more comfortable, durable and flexible. Open Mesh Upper The upper of the Gel-Xalion 3 is made from an open mesh. This material allows cool air to flow into the shoe at the same time as warm air is released. This creates a cool environment inside of the shoe which will improve the foot's overall comfort. Additional eyelets have been added to the lacing system which will allow the wearer to tie the shoes closer to the top of the foot/ankle area which will give tighter and more supportive fit. The tongue and heel cuff are filled with a plush cushioning which allows these areas to sit closely on the foot without causing chafe and discomfort. Placed at the back of the shoe is an internal heel counter. This will hold the foot securely in place and will reduce the risk of slippage and potential discomfort and injury. Sitting on the footbed is a plush removable sock liner. This is made from a layer of EVA foam and will offer much needed cushioning directly under the foot. This feature can also vastly improve the fit of the shoe as the sockliner can be removed or exchanged to meet the wearer personal preferences. GEL Cushion Midsole Chosen for the construction of the heel area of the midsole is a GEL foam.
